It all began on the streets of Asia – where hawker stalls glow at dusk, woks sizzle through the night, and a single bowl of something warm can feel like coming home. This is where PappaRich found its soul. Born from a deep love for Asian comfort food, we set out to capture those flavours, those moments, and that unmistakable feeling – and bring them to the world.
Blending the bold culinary traditions of Malay, Chinese, and Indian heritage, PappaRich became more than a restaurant. It became a place people returned to – for the Roti Canai, the Nasi Lemak, the perfectly pulled Teh Tarik – but above all, for the feeling of warmth, belonging, and a meal worth lingering over.
From a single restaurant, PappaRich grew into a global family – stretching across Asia, Australia, and beyond – carrying that same spirit of authentic Asian comfort food wherever it went. And then, Sri Lanka.
In 2019, PappaRich opened its doors on the island for the very first time – and Sri Lanka answered with open arms. A culture that has always understood the power of food, where spice tells a story, hospitality is second nature, and no table is ever too full. PappaRich did not arrive as something new here. It arrived as something familiar – a shared love for bold flavours and generous meals that bring people together.
That warm welcome never stopped. Today, PappaRich proudly calls Sri Lanka home across multiple thriving locations – and we are just getting started.
